Educational Camps

These camps are great for whether you own a horse or just wish you did! Wish I Had a Horse Camp and our My Own Horse Camp are kid based while our Adult Camps are for high school age kids and adults. We go through many different subjects on our furry friends depending on which camp you attend. We cover subjects such as body parts, tack and equipment, food and even fun games as well! We try to host these often so everyone can enjoy them.

My Own Horse Camp

A six hour long camp where we take the kids through many different parts of what it takes to own a horse. We start out with letting the kids adopt one of the lesson horses for the day, and then we take the kids throughout our ranch teaching them about barn safety, how to feed the horses, an adventure hunt, grooming a horse, what pieces of tack it takes to ride a horse and how to put it on the horse and then we teach the kids how to get on and properly sit on the horse. After all the fun, we provide the kids with a snack and drink while they play our special game Tack Bingo, where we correctly name pieces of horse tack to mark off on the bingo cards. Every kid wins a bingo to take home a prize and a t-shirt for attending camp. The feedback we have received from this camp is incredible as the kids learn up close and personal with the horses what it feels like to own one or how to properly take care of their horse they already have at home!

Adult Camps
(Versions 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0) More to come!

A three hour long camp for high school age kids and adults. Although these versions have the same topics as our kids versions for Wish I Had a Horse Camp, the adult versions are a lot more detailed and informative. Topics range from Anatomy, Plants, Breeds, Saddle Fitting, and Nutrition for a few examples. We go through each topic with pictures and learning points in our classroom. During camp we bring a horse into the classroom for hands on learning as well. Attendees are provided a meal and a take home booklet that covers everything we went over during camp because there are so many details covered. This camp is GREAT for horseowners or aspiring horseowners! We strive to provide helpful information that we have gained through our experience that will help you succeed with your horse!

Wish I Had a Horse Camp
(Versions 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0) More to come!

A two and a half hour long camp that covers different topics in each version with hands on learning and a horse in the classroom. Topics range from Parts of the Horse, Thoroughbred Racing, Plants, Breeds and Colors for just a few examples. We end each camp with a fun game of jeopardy and all the kids win prizes! We find that after kids attend these camps their confidence is highly boosted, they feel more comfortable during their riding lessons and their learning is inspired. Once a camper has attended all five camps, they receive a t-shirt for their "graduation." We have so much fun during these with the kids! They are truly the ones who inspire us.
